It was another school day. The Fall Formal Dance was over and the students were ready to get back to learning, as did Flash Sentry, pulling up to the lot, leaving his car and heading towards the school building.
"Hi, Flash.", said a feeble voice as Flash made his way up the steps. It was Sunset Shimmer, responsible for tearing the school a new front entrance. Deciding that mocking her at her recent folly and defeat would be in poor taste, Flash smiled and returned the greeting with an awkward "hi" of his own.
Continuing down the uncrowded corridor of Canterlot High, Flash Sentry reflected on the events of the past week, the new girl he met still on his mind. The girl that, although quirky, had her own qualities that made her unique not just to him, but to the eyes of everyone else that night the school dance was saved.
Flash Sentry swapped his stuff in and out of his locker. Classes would start within the next couple of minutes, but Flash was pretty much only looking forward to hanging out with his band after the day was done. Flash packed up his locker, ready to head to class, when there came a voice. A familiar voice.
"Thanks for escorting me here on my first day, guys..."
It was a girl. That girl. But that couldn't be her. Could it? The girl he knew, he missed, who disappeared into the night after the dance. He bashed his locker door shut. He needed to know for sure.
Flash turned the corner quickly, trying to get a better view of who exactly he was chasing, dashing past his schoolmates who were starting to file in for their morning in school, dodging them with great agility. It had to be done. He needed to see who she was. He put the risk of making a fool of himself aside, and called out her name. "Twilight! Twilight!" resounded on the seemingly endless corridor. He got the weird looks from the others, but perhaps just one more shout would do.
"TWILIGHT!!"
The girl stood in her tracks, along with the other two who were with her, hearing the one with a flashy, Neapolitan ice cream coloured hair say "I think someone's here to welcome you to school, Twilight."
They turned around and noticed their pursuer who finally caught up to them, huffing for breath, before watching him grab one of them by the shoulders, to the shock of the three.
"Are you You? Twilight? Twilight Sparkle?"
"Yes? Yes, I am. And you are...?"
"Flash Sentry."
"Um..."
"Don't you remember me? We were together at the dance?"
"I don't think so.", said the girl, uncomfortable with the hands that have invaded her space. "I just transferred to this school..."
"You did. Last week!"
"'Last week'? I just got here."
"But–"
The third of the group in a formidable black shirt stepped up towards Flash Sentry. "I think you heard her saying she doesn't know who you are, so could you give her some space, please?" Flash lets Twilight go.
"I'm sorry, fella.", says the girl, now more relaxed. "I've never seen you before. I just got here from the big city and just transferred to Canterlot High."
"But your friends.", Flash continues, voice crumbling under desperation. "You reunited your friends. You saved the school dance. And this is gonna sound crazy, but you defeated my ex and got back your crown..."
"What!?"
"Take it easy, Flash.", said the girl in Neapolitan. "I think you're mistaking our Twilight for someone else. It's her first day here, and I think it would be best if she got comfortable around the school first."
"Yeah. Sorry, guy.", said Blackshirt. "Let my sister have some time to herself, alright? C'mon, Cadance. The principal is expecting Twilight."
"See you around, Flash.", said Twilight, producing a feeble wave before the three moved on.
Flash Sentry trudged his way back to his locker, shattered, the school bell echoing down the halls. He had to take the hard pill. The Twilight he knew was no more. She was gone. Head thudding on the metal locker, with a pain in his chest like no other, mumbling,
"It's not the same without you, Twilight."
I did "Hey, Haven't I Seen You Before?!", but then I thought about it, and then I got real sad, real fast. Our Twilight may have her Flash Sentry in Equestria, but what about Humanoid Flash Sentry?
Humanoid Universe Theory: Humanoid Pinkie Pie mentioned she knew of a girl who looks just like Twilight who lived in the city, which means that Flash Sentry never actually met the Twilight Sparkle of his world, in the movie at least. So, assuming that Humanoid World's Twilight Sparkle never was in Canterlot High (since no one recognised our Twilight during her time there), technically she never knew Flash Sentry.
(This is 8 months old and was never officially uploaded until 4th April 2013.)
